Kingston Community Health Centres - Immigrant Services Kingston and Area

Program offering various settlement services for immigrants, newcomers, and refugees in the Kingston area. Services are offered in multiple languages and include:

  • meeting with a Settlement Worker
    • answers questions and helps find resources in the community to make settlement easier, as well as giving more detailed information on ISKA services, programs, and upcoming events
  • referrals to community organizations and translation services, as well as language assessments and government-funded language training programs
  • assistance with government documents
    • a Commissioner of Oath is also available to help with documents that need to be sworn or affirmed, such as: affidavits (sworn statements) and statutory declarations (name changes, travel consent for children, common-law status, etc.)
  • home search support and homelessness prevention plans
  • support with enrolling children in schools and child care programs
  • welcome package for newcomers (while supplies last) providing access to Kingston activities and services
    • may include: a Kingston Transit pass, a Fitness pass to city recreational programs, vouchers for shows at the Grand Theatre and family passes to museums
  • group information sessions that are open to the public and that focus on a specific theme or topic related to settlement (ex.: filing income taxes, adjusting to winter, parenting in Canada)
