Kingston. City Hall - Special Priority Policy Rent-Geared-to-Income Housing Assistance
Priority access to rent-geared-to-income (RGI) assistance for social housing
- Special Priority Policy (SPP) ensures housing is not a barrier to leaving situation of family/domestic abuse or trafficking
- administration and delivery of community housing through local Service Managers, including RGI assistance and SPP
Application
- Contact the Service Manager of your local municipal housing authority to apply for Rent Geared to Income and the Special Priority Policy for Survivors of Abuse. Applications permitted in more than one Service Manager area if willing to relocate
- survivors of abuse must apply while living with or within 3 months of living with abuser (does not apply if abuser is immigration sponsor), and intend to live permanently apart
- survivors of trafficking must apply while trafficking is ongoing or within 3 months after trafficking has stopped
Eligibility
Must meet criteria for Special Priority Policy (survivors of family/domestic abuse, sex trafficking, or labour trafficking) as well as rent-geared-to-income (RGI) assistance
