Niagara college offers career-specific communication skills training programs for newcomers whose goal is to enter the Canadian workplace or post-secondary studies.

Occupation-specific Language Training (OSLT)

Offering FREE part-time courses: Workplace Communication Skills for Internationally Trained professionals in Business, Health Sciences and Technology. These courses focus on preparing internationally trained professionals for the linguistic and socio-cultural requirements of the Business, Health, and Technology sectors in Canada. Offered at no-cost to qualified candidates by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).

Newcomer Employment and Experience Transition Program (NEXT)

A free program that equips participants with competencies aligned with the Government of Canada's Skills for Success framework. The program emphasizes essential skills such as workplace communication, critical thinking, adaptability, and labour market knowledge. Participants gain job search expertise, workforce exposure, and networking opportunities with industry professionals.
