Niagara College - Programs and Services for Newcomers to Canada
Offers programs and services that help newcomers to Canada achieve their professional goals towards employment or further education. Services offered are:
- English as a Second Language (ESL)
- Occupation Specific Language Training (OSLT) courses in Health Sciences, Business and Technology
- Enhanced Language Training for Employment (ELTE)
- Canadian culture and workplace studies and career exploration and planning - qualified candidates also have an opportunity to participate in a non-paid placement specific to professional career, career exploration, educational pathways, and support for non-traditional students
- English language classes at an advanced level
- Work-placement opportunity within the Niagara Region (ELTE Full-Time only)
- Canadian workplace preparation courses leading to a General Arts & Science certificate
- Assistance in transportation, books/materials and tuition (based on eligibility)
- Part-time ELTE & OSLT offers a flexible delivery option

- Canadian Language Benchmark 6 to 8
- Status in Canada as Permanent Resident or a Protected Person
- Ages: 18 years and up
