Ottawa Public Health - Harm Reduction Program

The clinic at 179 Clarence St offers access to harm reduction supplies for safer drug use such as needles and sterile water, and access to supervised consumption services (SCS)

  • wide range of health services
  • anonymous HIV testing including point-of-care
  • testing for Hepatitis B and C
  • screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • pregnancy tests
  • emergency contraceptive pill (ECP)
  • Hepatitis A, B and influenza vaccinations
  • take-home naloxone kits
  • first aid
  • counselling
  • referrals to health and social service agencies including drug treatment agencies

Mobile Services: Site Van (613-232-3232)

  • travels to various locations within the City of Ottawa
  • collect calls accepted
  • staffed by public health nurses and outreach workers
  • if needles are found on public property and need to be discarded, please call By-Law at 3-1-1

Works in conjunction with Community Needle Retrieval Program (94643536​) that discards needles in community (see website for map of Community Needle Retrieval Services)

Clinic Services: drop-in during business hours (no appointment required)
Mobile Services: call 613-232-3232 during business hours and a meeting will be arranged in a pre-established location within the City of Ottawa (on a first-come, first-serve basis)

Eligibility

People who inject and/or inhale drugs (including steroid users), sex industry workers and street-involved people
