YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce - Youth In Transition Worker Program

Program offers support to young adults as they transition out of the child welfare system into independent living.
Using a client centered approach, a Youth in Transition worker will assist young people to identify and develop a plan based on their personal goals.

This plan could include:

  • securing local affordable housing
  • finding education and employment resources to help cover the cost of post secondary education and training, or to find a job
  • identifying skills training, such as financial literacy courses and meal planning
  • accessing health and mental health services such as being connected with a family doctor and counselling
  • locating legal services, including advice for youth in the justice system
