Application
Apply through the District of Sault Ste Marie Social Services Administration Board (DSSMSSAB); application form available on website
Eligibility
- Indigenous people 16 years of age and older who are First Nation (status or non-status), Métis or Inuit living off-reserve
- Special priority given to victims of domestic violence and abuse
- Must be a Canadian citizen
- Must not owe arrears of rent or money to any past or present Social Housing Provider
- Must not have been convicted of an offence regarding the receipt of Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) assistance
- Must not have misrepresented their income for the purpose of RGI
- All RGI tenants/members are required to pursue all possible sources of income such as Ontario Works, Employment Insurance, etc
- Must meet the RGI financial needs criteria
- Anyone 60 years of age or older or will be 60 years of age within 12 months of date of application
