Assists highly skilled internationally trained immigrants (ITIs) gain equivalent work experience in Ontario

  • regulated occupation (for example, nursing, engineering, etc.)
  • non-regulated occupation currently in demand, such as information technology, financial services


Immigrant Professionals Leveraging Architectural Knowledge for New Opportunities

  • 14 week program for newcomers with an undergraduate degree in architecture or related field from a university outside Canada; language proficiency at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB 7/8) required
  • technical and professional skills training, including 8 week licensing preparation program
  • job search support, networking and mentoring
  • internships and employment opportunities
  • course also offered online


International Skills Applied Geriatrics (ISAGE)

  • 12 week program for internationally trained doctors, nurses, teachers, social workers, psychologists or other health care professionals; language proficiency at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 preferred
  • sector-specific workplace culture and communication training
  • academic curriculum includes Essentials of Counselling and Fundamentals of Gerontology
  • employer information sessions, job search coaching and support, internships, job shadowing and work placements

Eligibility

Adults 18 years or older, with a post-secondary certificate or degree from outside Canada, and international work experience in a profession or trade; must be permanent resident, Canadian citizen, Convention refugee or refugee claimant eligible to work in Canada, with English proficiency that meets Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 7 or above
Clients in Francophone programs must demonstrate French language proficiency of Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) Level 7 or above, and English language proficiency of CLB Level 6 or above
